Chelsea have bought and loaned 19 year old striker Lazar Markovic to Benfica.

Never heard of him let alone see him play, but I'm sure he is AWESOME!!

Well, whatever the daily express says, and it seems somewhat confused, I am sure Roman and Jose know exactly what the score is. Or at least, better than most.

Napoli have already turned down Torres plus money weeks back. 49 mil without Torres also rejected.

They want 53 mil. Jose looking elsewhere.

It's only two weeks since Benitez was appointed at Napoli, so I don't think he had anything to do with it.

Who offered Torres plus money?

Chelsea did way back ups. I put a clever dick post on a thread about it somewhere ages ago.

There appears to be a few rumours that Ezequiel Garay (from Benfica) is on his way to Old Trafford.

There is also a rumour that shares in United have suffered a 9% fall because of the rumour.

It surely is the silly season. blink.png

Garay appears to be a strong rumor. The 9% fall is apparently fact, with the Garay rumor alleged to be the reason. Also, apparently there was an approximate 4% decrease soon after Moyes was named manager. But I doubt if any of this bears up to much scrutiny. Too many extraneous factors could be involved. Makes good copy though.

Time to sell Rooney ? wink.png

Barca now after Lewandowski, apparently.

If Barca has decided to reel in a legit #9, Lew could be the best of the lot. I could see that working for Barca. Maybe Dortmund would loosen their grasp given Lew wouldn't end up with Bayern, or in the German league. If Barca does acquire Lew, or another #9, it will be interesting to see how they work him in. Many of the Catalans still have a foul taste in their mouths from the brief Ibra experiment. Plus, it takes a special big man to synch in with the Messi/Iniesta/Xavi/Alves one-twos. But if it works, Barca could have the "plan B" that they probably need.coffee1.gif

Talk Sport full of talk this morning about Michael Laudrup wanting away from Swansea and his contract this Summer, as he is (allegedly) not convinced that they are prepared to spend his kind of money.

Probably just agent agitation and posturing.

Laudrup is the fans favourite for Real Madrid job. He didn't look too happy with the boss last week.

Too good for Swansea.

Not happy with the club's commitment. Club have severed ties with his agent. His relationship with his agent has not 'moved a centimetre'.

Something's got to give.

If it don't feel right, it Isn't.

Move on.

Great player, fine manager.

Rumour Only:

"Mega-rich French side Paris Saint-Germain may be preparing an outrageous raid on Tottenhamam Hotspur according to The Daily Mail.

The club look to outbid Real Madrid in the war to sign superstar Gareth Bale, but they also have an ace up their sleeve.

PSG are hoping that if they can tempt Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas to sign as manager, that may influence Bale’s decision over which club to join.

Which begs the question; when is a rumor so stupid and contrived its not worth printing? biggrin.png

To be fair it's a bit of a stupid subject for a thread unless you don't want anyone to read it of course 2.gif

When there are rumours and rumours of rumours, there's a possibility that there may be an element of truth. Some clubs are throwing money around like water in order to 'buy' success and it's not inconceivable that a good manager like AVB could be wanted and a high price (compensation) offered for his service as he's young and could prove to be a very good long term investment. You have mentioned in the past how well Bale likes working with AVB, so he won't leave Spurs, therefore, it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility that IF AVB went and he wanted Bale to follow him it could happen. To go after someone's posts constantly and trying to put them down just because you don't like what you are reading, demonstrates a certain amount of immaturity. I repeat this is a rumour thread and if we knew things for sure they wouldn't be rumours would they?

Gotta agree that its not anymore an outlandish rumor than many others. Filching a manager to obtain a player is a wily move.

Wherefore art thou Ronaldo ?

Ronaldo's situation remains unsettled, IMO, despite RM's plaintive cries to the contrary. I figure that he's the biggest piece of the puzzle, and some other transfers won't happen (being put on hold) until his fate is known. I still think if SAF had remained at United Ronaldo would definitely have been at OT this coming season, and it could still happen.

ronaldo's the main man at the biggest club in the world playing in arguably the best league. He has a new manager starting a new dawn for the club. Why would he want to go to Man Utd? He's been there, done that. Even if Ferguson was there, why? And now, theres probably a better chance of more trophies at Madrid anyway

Well, we'd be probably be playing a fools game trying to read Ronaldo's mind, but...

1. RM does not yet have a manager.

2. Spain arguably the best league ? Maybe, but as you say, arguably, and I'd argue the EPL. Certainly the EPL is more visible worldwide. Ronaldo likes "visibility".

3. Seems to me Ronaldo has pretty fond memories associated with United, even without SAF there.

4. He'll get a fine pay packet to be sure, at United, or anywhere else.

5. No more annoying, or certainly less, comparisons to Messi.

6. Foul taste leftover from the Mourinho years.

7. With United he'll have a chance to make Mourinho eat his "know it all" words.

8. Sick of Perez saying he's definitely going to stay (BTW, Perez strikes me as very amateurish to be president of RM).

Hey, maybe he'll stay or maybe he'll go, but I opt for the latter.wink.png
