Health Six Dead as Covid Cases Surge in Thailand
Quite! Scaremongering. It is now the season of colds and Flu. Just when Covid 19 appeared on the scene - the common cold disappeared. Everyone now had Covid! When 'Covid' disappeared - the common cold returned. Amazing, eh? Fiendishly clever - these viruses - they know when to hide and then appear. Ideal for students and work-shy people in general. I have had a head cold now for about a week, I've had them before - annually, if not more often than that. In fact, over 70+ years experience of the common cold. I know exactly what to expect. But if I did what Thai people do and go to the hospital, I'd probably be diagnosed with Covid! And as a foreigner, that would cost me a lot of money, while enriching the hospital businesses. Well, they've got to make up the shortfall caused by lack of tourists from somewhere, Right? -

Congressman proposes for NIH to study Trump Derangement Sydrome
On Thursday, Legistorm reported Davidson introduced the "Trump D******ment S******e Research Act of 2025." The bill directs the National Institutes of Health to study <removed> -- or as Davidson put it, “<removed> has divided families, the country, and led to nationwide violence -- including two assassination attempts on President [Donald] Trump. The <removed> Research Act would require the NIH to study this toxic state of mind, so we can understand the root cause and identify solutions.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/is-trump-derangement-syndrome-a-real-thing-new-bill-seeks-an-actual-answer/ar-AA1EUPjo -

Tourism Tourism Shock: Thailand's Visitor Numbers See Alarming Plunge
Yep, the beaches used to be the big draw and Bangkok was a bit of a blast for a few days. But the average provincial city has nothing much to see, certainly no more than all the other average provincial cities in Thailand. Having ruined most beach areas through over building and allowing nearby sleaze night life, there isn’t really much that Thailand has to sell. Changmai was the big alternative to the beaches, but that has long since been ruined. i’d be happy to do a short break trip to Hua Hin with a group of friends to play on the various golf courses, but aside from that, I’m not sure what else I could recommend. It’s a great shame, but there it is. All that’s left is the sex pat business and those tourists who want a week ensconced in a 5 star resort with a spa. -

One Big Beautiful Bill? More Like One Big Bloody Oversized Stich-Up, Bruv
Ha! Why the Republican resistance in the House? Because … like the previous Trump/Republican passed tax reduction (the current Bill renews and enhances) … it will add yet more to the debt of the USA. The current Bill is just a continuation of spending but refusing to t@x to cover wanted/needed programs … from medical coverage to defense.
