Looking For A Cordless Voip Telephone In Bangkok.

Featured Replies

My wife looked all morning in MBK and Panthip Plaza, the answer always: no have, no have...

While there is a VoIP store at Panthip Plaza (www.voip-thailand.com) they don't have cordless IP phones.

My old but reliable Siemens Gigaset C450IP just died and it seems its hard to get in Bkk.

Anyone an idea where I can get one?

Thanks

Sorry can't help you on finding a VoiP cordless, as I too have been looking for one. About a year ago a friend and I were just look for a VoiP phone and kept getting the same thing. My friend even found a manufacturer here in Thailand, but when he asked "Do you sell them in Thailand and where?" he got the same answer "Sorry, no have!".

So thanks for the heads up with the link. biggrin.png

it really seems that no one knows where to get it or its just not available here in Bangkok...

Most of the mid and highend smartphones has voip capabilities, you can add sip service easily. Also you can look for a cheaper android phone, maybe you can download some voip app?

Just calling country to country, my wife and her friends talk for hours using Line (and previously Skype but that's crap) apps loaded onto their phones. Works great. No need for a special phone VOIP phone.

I know its an old topic, but maybe it helps for others.

Thanks a million for this tip, my voip phone broke down and i use it for business. I was on the verge of buying a new phone but my smartphone could handle it too. Just downloaded an app and registered my phone and voila my Dutch phone nr works again but this time on my smartphone.

Well almost all Thai in BKK use LINE . When you hear "ding-dong" out of the pocket of a Thai it means they are getting messages.

Line works perfect, also from europe to asia, much better then a paid line with a cellphone.

Buy a cheap Android phone and you are free to use LINE. Also has video function and much more by the way.

I was talking about business.. there you need a regular nr, my clients greatly appreciate a Dutch telephone nr.

For social contacts line is just fine. So voip still has its uses.
