Just been reading the reviews on trip advisor NOT SO GOOD by the looks of it but I am booked and going anyway, I have arranged for them to pick me up at Nakon Phanom and also they have guaranteed they can get me back to the airport after the 3 night stay by 8am to catch my flight back to BKK , initially they said they could not get me there by 8am but then after I said if they cannot I wont be able to book since that is the only flight.

After reading the reviews gotta say i'm a bit nervous about missing my flight back which will be a major problem with my schedule.

I will post a full review upon my return.

I thought the bridge closed overnight. When i arrived at nakon phanom in the evening they could not pick me up so i stayed overnight in mukdahan. They did get me back to nakon phanom for late morning flight though.

OK I am in Laos now and just got my visa Multiple O

Flew into Nakon Phanom and was met on time by the van driver although I had to go outside to look for the Van where as it might of been more service orientated had they been there with a sign with my name on.

Van was just me, so and hour an 15 minutes to the border where they pretty much got me through in very swift fashion and onto the Casino where I was met checked in and handed over my paperwork.

When I was handing over the financial proof I said to him this is not needed Im just giving ti to you just in case to which he replied NO NO WE NEED THAT NOW since there is a new boss and he is very strict so we need the financial proof. (good job I took it just in case)

Waited at the Casino which was really bring if you don't play those silly games so all in all a good service but its pretty boring waiting fr it but at least I have a visa.

Very painless and I would do it again for a hassle free visa.

For the interest of others, what was the required 'figure' 400,000, 100,000 or proof of income ?

Thanks for the detailed information. Hidden treasures like this are always good to know.

I'm afraid if there are threads on Thai Visa about it it is no longer a hidden treasure. Without wishing to be negative, it was an excess of success that finaly led to the clampdown at the Hull consulate. When a place becomes too popular on account of its leniency, it is usually only a matter of time before it is brought into line with the policies at other consulates. Nothing good lasts for ever and in these matters , notoriety heralds an eventual demise to a very useful alternative. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I gave 400k proof I will try and check when I leave but not 100% sure since I did not ask about the 100k

Was this information given to you by the casino visa runners or straight from the Thai Consulate?

I am sure it was the casino staff as reported in other topics.

The consulate does not require it. Best to do it yourself.

If you were to head to Savannakhet without the financial details - and they actually asked for it, would you have any problems quickly switching your application to a double entry tourist visa?

If you had the 400,000 wouldn't it have been easier to get a 1 year extension based on marriage. Most people go to Suvannaket because they don't have the 400,000 required for the extension ?

hi guys, I get my "O" (marriage) 1 yr, multiple entry visa recently, in Vienna, Austria (they needed just copy of marriage certificate and copy of my wife passport). They required proof of income (in English), which I didn't have initially, but was possible to send later by email. As I understand, now I have to make visa run every 90 days (or before). After 1 year, I can make extension for this visa (outside of Thailand, in Savannakhet for example?), and then I need to just report at immigration every 90 days? I like to travel, so it will be multiple entry visa also, or I have to "buy" every entry to Thailand?

Thanks

You can extend during the last month of any entry at immigration and buy re-entry permit for travel. You could also obtain a new visa as now from a consulate.

This is the last outpost of opportunity and is looking to crash and burn behind all the others. The senseless questions have no bounds. You either have the money or don't and blathering on her changes nothing.

Go to an embassy or consulate with all your paperwork - including the financials you DO have. Include a letter from the wife, photos and the base of documents to make your case and take your shot.

Going on and on in a public forum accomplishes nothing. Not only is every emb/consulate different but every applicant is different. If you guys have bot learned that by now, you have learned nothing.

Further, if SV requires money and you don't have it - don't use them. In fact perhaps using them only encourages a requirement. Surely does not lessen it.

I would very much urge people who are clued in to stop posting every detail of their sucesses and I wiuld urge the clueless to start reading some old threads here as well as information in general on the Internet.

This will be the last consulate to go and they all went because of too much blah blah, speculation and conjecture as well.as too much sharing of details best left to visa applicants.

When YOU go, YOU know.

Stop using SV, damn sure about that one.

I'll give the consulate six months before something changes and not much longer than that before it follows the pack. Thank you Thai Visa.
