Hi

I don’t get on the computer every day and with the number of posts after a few days there are pages of “View new posts” for me to wade through.

Trouble is all the posts are interesting (such nice people) so I never seem to get through the backlog to see a response to any posting I may have made.

The question is; is there a way of highlighting New Posts that I have contributed or answered to so I can view those first before I get engrossed with all the other new posts?

I do not want to be alerted by e-mail as I check that even less than logging on here.

I have looked through “My Controls” but can’t see anything obvious. Have I missed something?

I have also searched this feature but not found. It would be nice to add it. And also the possibility to track a thread even if you doesn't write into it. :o

You can track threads with e-mail notification by using the "Options" menu at the top of the topic, if I understand you correctly.

It's not what I want, it will end with tons of mails in my box everyday. :o I think that this feature exists, or maybe I'm confusing with the usenet feature that can be found on usenet clients where it's possible to highlight a thread so that its easy to follow it.

There is so much interesting threads on this forum, or only some that i'm just curious of the issue that such a feature would be helpful. :D I'll continue to search, maybe on: http://www.opensourcecms.com/

If you look at the left side of the page listing the forum topics, you'll see a little icon that looks like a mini briefcase.

If you have posted a reply in that thread, the bottom-right corner of the icon will be white.

If the briefcase is red and has the little white mark in the corner, that means there are new replies since your last post.

(I may have my colours wrong :o )

At the bottom-left end of the page listing the forum topics is a "key" that shows the various icons and what they mean.

I've added the icon that shows you've posted in a thread (with the little white mark in the bottom-right corner).

Once you see it, you'll recognize it right away when you are browsing the forum topics.

Does that help ?

What I do is click that "My Assistant" link at the top of the page, then click "My Last 10 posts".

In the following page, click the number link next to "Post Preview:".

Not that straght-forward, but does the job.

Hi

Thanks ‘KERRYD’ I hadn’t noticed the little white corner on the red briefcase so will look out for it in future.

Trouble is I will still have to go through all the pages of ‘new’ posts and as I’m on dial-up it can take some time. But at least the ones I’m interested in will be easier to spot.

‘INSIGHT’ your way has merit and will try that against the red briefcase.

Neither is ideal but an improvement on my current way.

Thanks

Beachcomber. :o
