The Chinese version is dual sim.

The specs decide what size the sd card is supported. The SGS 2 supports 32 gig. 64 gig works, but it can be temperamental.

The Galaxy 8 specs does say it supports 64 gig sd.

When you get it, check that the screen is working properly and there's no "dead" spots on it. There was a topic here not too long ago when a guy said one area of the screen wasn't responding to touch and he replaced a few units with every units being the same. Maybe a bad batch, I'd check the unit before taking it.

I have one of these. I find it to be very good though the note/stylus seems pretty pointless to me. Not too big/heavy to hold in one hand and not so small as to make it unusable for ebooks, web browsing etc.

It takes a 64Gb micro SD card of the right type ie Class 10. Not all 64Gb cards will work properly in it, notably the cheap ones.

Battery life reasonable. I've never had to charge mine more often than overnight.

Screen very good even if not OLED. Everything seems to work well on it. Adobe flash player can be installed and works OK though it isnt included or supported.

Decent processor, plenty of RAM and very responsive in use.

Works fine as a phone also though I would feel a bit stupid using it as a hand-held phone in public. A bluetooth headset solves that problem.

Price in most places here is 15,200B but I saw it for 14,990 online and 14,200 in BKK Duty Free.

I bought my wife one and loves it. I bought from Samsung shop and have had no problems with it at all. Beware of copies.

A friend of mine has it and I'm duly impressed. Any alternatives in the market?

My note 1 has a cracked screen so I would continue using it as a phone but for reading it is a bit too annoying. The note 8 is still small enough to carry around in a business environment but a full blown tablet.

I love the way you can take handwritten notes on it, just like on paper!

AIS provides two sim cards for the same number and you can switch from one device to the other. So they say... Anyone experience with this?

Isn't it against Apple Law for IPad/IPhone owners to switch to another manufacturer's device? I also think Steve Jobs swore he would haunt anyone who switched from Apple.wink.png

I am happy enough with mine. Prior to purchasing I looked at the Sony and the Acer, both of which are similar size but dont have the same functions. For me 10in is too big and 7in is a bit small, but 8in is just about right.

I use it for checking emails and webpages in bed, controlling my hifi/media player, controlling my TV and as an eReader. I also play a very occasional game on it.

Never used the stylus/note function, not least because I dont take the thing with me when I go out (except in the car when going long distances).

Guess I'm sold. I see it the same way, just the right size and plan doing the same stuff on it as you plus the note functions.

I just bought one and really like it. I was planning on a nexus 7, but the extra inch makes a big difference. Surprisingly it's more expensive than the ipad mini everywhere but Thailand, though close.
