No immigration checks for transit passengers. Just the usual gate / boarding pass security and identification check. This was May this year.

As long as you have your boarding pass which is usually the case no issues. I went Phuket, Kuala Lumpour, Amsterdam and then UK. Got all three boarding passes at Phuket checkin. Same in reverse coming back.

Assuming you're talking about a Thai National then a transit visa is not required.

Anyone with an onward ticket can transit .... every other international airport.

Just anyone try that in the US.

Amsterdam is great for this purpose as long as she isn't transferring to a budget airline necessitating clearing immigration.
