Dr. Wattana Kanjanakamol, Chief of the Chiang Mai Public Health Office reported on July 7, 2013 that about an average of 100 patients a day are diagnosed with dengue fever across the province with ten districts hit the hardest; with Mae Ai still having the highest infection rate. Other districts that have been hit are Hang Dong, Mae Rim, Mae Taeng, Muang Chiang Mai, Doi Lo, Mae Wang, San Sai, Chiang Dao and San Pa Tong.
