Getting a 2nd remote for alarm, how ?

Featured Replies

I lost first remote when i jumped in the sea with the remote in my swim trunk pocket,

i still had the 2nd remote, but i have two key-rings, one for shorts & the other for jeans.

Then i bought a new alarm with 2 remotes, but the key along with the alarm jumped out somewhere and was lost, so now once again i only have a single remote !

Where can i buy a remote and get it to work with my alarm ?

Conjecture. But I would say slim to none unless you go back to where you bought the alarm and they have a spare kicking around.

You would have to know the frequency? Is there anything in the instructions about teaching/programming your alarm to recognize a third remote?

The ones we use are 433.92 MHz and 868MHz. PLUS they they have either rolling and/or hopping code so the chance of matching a generic remote to a specific device, I think are quite small. But I've been wrong before...

A friend once said i could buy a remote and replicate the signals

by teaching the 2nd remote from the first,

but i will try going back to the shop and ask if he has a backup

You can get a cheap cloning remote (like you noted, it replicates the signal) off eBay- probably for around 500 baht shipped.

That is exactly what i want !

Do you or anyone else happen to know where i can buy in pattaya ?

i donno how to get a visa card that works on internet

No idea- you'd need to set up a Paypal account to order off eBay, though (which isn't difficult)- just a Visa card won't do it.
