NGV Testing Site in Chiang Rai

Featured Replies

Having recently moved to the area I have been searching for an NGV Testing Site here or nearby. My vehicle has dual NGV/ Diesel and in the past prior to renewing my road tax I have had to provide a report from an NGV Testing Station, usually costs Bt500 to show that the vehicle's NGV system has been serviced/tested. Tax isn't due till December, however, I would like to know where the nearest site is.

Replies much appreciated.

I believe there is a shop near a hotel called The Room. It is between the Meng Rai Monument and the National Stadium (Heading towards Wiang Chai). The shop is very near a small bridge over a Klong. All Taxis and LPG fueled motor vehicles go there for installation and certification. You can take that certificate to the Motor vehicle department for approval.

Thanks so much for this...........I was beginning to think I wouldn't get any replies here and maybe have to go on the Chiang Mai forum and take my car there for testing. I will take a drive out there and try and locate the place. Once again thanks for taking the time to respond.

It might not be a bad idea to go to the motor vehicle registration office and ask them what they require and where they might recommend getting it. I am a firm believer in going to the source, to avoid misunderstandings.thumbsup.gif

Thanks VF for your response. My wife has to renew her licence soon so I will enquire there as you suggest. I have been reading much on the Chiang Rai forum and note your input, which I have found very helpful. Thanks again.

Today, I duly attended the Motor Vehicle Centre, Chiang Rai along with my wife and were given general directions to the NGV/ LPG Testing Station. We drove to the location and without much difficulty located the site. Driving from Wat Rong Khun on Highway 1 towards Chiang Rai it is located on the left hand carriageway about halfway between Wat Rong Khun and the Bus Terminal. It is directly opposite a Wat and level with a U-turning position. The staff there we found to be most helpful.

Thanks for getting back to us. We are always appreciative of followup. wai.gifsmile.png
