Tourist visa 30 day extention

Hi i am in chiang rai at the moment

and the 1st entry of my tourist visa is up on 22/8/13 my problem is that my son is visiting on the 18th for 3 weeks planning on staying in bangkok and pataya and scuba diving etc so i want to extend my visa while i am in chiang rai early as i beleve you dont lose days doing this. I beleve i have to do the extention at mai sai my problem is i need precise directions to the immigration office and how early can i do it without sanction.

I have the use of a car and tom tom satnav tt doesent have immegration offices i did check thanks to all

It may be worth noting for later users of this thread that the extension and 90 day people will be moving to ChiangRai within the next few months. (not just the first saturday of the month at Central ChiangRai)
