I live in southeastern Thailand, but there is no local forum for the area -- say, from Rayong to the Cambodian border, including Chanthaburi and Koh Chang. The closest area on the local forum is Pattaya and its, well, a different life there.

Would it be a lot to ask to add a local forum for the southeast? I'm sure there must be enough farang in the area, especially in Koh Chang.

I was thinking the same thing as well, as I wanted to be able to find out more from people in the area (like Trat). It looks like an area I might like to relocate to one day (not Koh Chang, but somewhere on the mainland around Trat).

Unfortunately, I don't think there is quite enough "traffic" at the current time to justify a separate forum.

Perhaps if enough people from the area start harassing the TV staff, they could eventually see their way clear to starting another sub-forum.

After all, the Krabi and Southern Thailand sub-forums don't appear to be that busy either.

If there isn't sufficient traffic to justify a sub-forum for the southeast, it would be nice if this area were covered in one of the other forums (currently it's not). At the very least, it would be reasonable to have a forum to cover "Other Regions of Thailand." As things stand, where would one go to ask questions about southeastern Thailand?

General Topics seems like the most obvious place to ask about something that isn't covered by a dedicated forum.

Central Thailand covers most of the unclaimed areas. Maybe we could look into broadening the name "Rural Thailand" or "Country Thailand" We'll see what the rest think.

On second thought, you should probably use the Pattaya forum as it's used alot by people in other neighbouring areas like Sri Racha, Chonburi, etc..

Can we have sub-sub-forums ? I'd like to split South Pattaya off into it's own forum, away from the rest of the riff-raff
