15% beer price rise?

I was at my local corner store 4 hours ago and bought a few cans a Chang for 30 Baht as usual..Just went back now and it's up to 35. He had a list of price changes in front of him...I was 5 Baht short for the 3 I bought, and as a good corner shop owner does, he let me owe the 5 Baht "till next time. The owner said it was a tax rise. 15%? Seems a lot...I;m not bitching about the price too much...ever bought a beer in Brisbane recently?..But the locals will be...Has there been a 15% tax rise on beer this week?

There has been a Tax rise on alcohol.

I did not think it was that much though.

The rise in the price of beer is expected to be only Bt2-Bt3 per can
