Poor experience with LMG Pacific - not recommended

I'm currently being treated for cancer and im finding that LMG repeatedly try to change the treatment recommended by my doctor for cheaper options. They are also currently holding up my chemotherapy as they can't organise the paperwork in a timely manner - this becomes the patients fault as they refuse treatment cover claiming the hospital told them late about the treatment options (chemotherapy runs on a schedule that can't be altered so this is a major hassle).

Another gripe is that once you have had a claim in your policy your premium increases massively the following year. One colleague who had a knee operation for 250k thb found his premium increased from 30k to 60k the following year.

I currently run a group policy with them and we'll be looking elsewhere come next year.

Take into account that if you switch providers while suffering from an illness cover for that illness will be excluded, if you can get cover at all.

Actually today the GM of LMG called me and explained the situation, apparently the hospital has been giving them the run around and they had reached a wall. After a discussion we found we're facing the same situation and will work together to get passed it. Top marks to them for working the weekend and poor scores for samitiveh hospital for not bothering to keep the guys paying the bills up to date.

So I'm back to recommending them as up to now I've had no issues at all.

Again and again: these guys will, in the end, let you down unless you are very rich. Self-insurance, a cheapo Thai insurance to get you through the first stages of an illness. A Farang getting ill after the age of 65 without a supporting Thai family is right up Sh** creek without a paddle. Pay many thousands over the years and find yourself uncovered/unable to pay further premiums. Seems so simple to me.

Sorry about your state of health mate.
