Curbs Second England Interview

Sky Sports Live. Sky Sports.Com

Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley has confirmed he had a second interview for the England coach's job this week.

The Addicks chief did not want to elaborate on the situation but, despite Middlesbrough's Steve McClaren being the strong favourite to replace Sven Goran Eriksson, it would appear that he is still in the shake-up.

The Football Association are expected to announce their decision next week but Curbishley refused to reveal how the interview at Soho Square progressed.

"I have had a second interview," he told Sky Sports News. "As has been widely reported.

"I don't know how it went, it's for other people to decide. I have had it and, you know, we'll have to see what happens.

"I think that's about as much as I want to say on it really.

"I don't really want to comment any more. I think, over the last six weeks, I've commented enough and I think it's right for me now to leave it alone and let other people get on with it.

"We'll see what the outcome is."

Curbishley refused to accept that Saturday's Premiership clash with Bolton Wanderers and another contender Sam Allardyce would have any bearing on who gets the England job.

"I don't think it's that," he answered. "I had a bit of a match-up with Sam at a charity dinner on Tuesday night and he won that one as well.

"No, I don't see it as that.

"I think the clubs are playing each other this weekend but I think the result is irrelevant considering the other side of it."

International Football Forum, in the same way that Bedlam is set out so we can put in our own posts........?????

Then you can read and reply to what you will....., the better subjects as we know will stay at the top, such as, new manager talk, player transfer talk, United in apparent decline talk.... :o
