The most sensible comment from a politician "I want them to stop dying"
On record where? The toilet wall in Grand Central Station? Trump was a buddy of Epstein many years ago and Trump invited him to Maralago. He found Epstein hitting on a young cute member of staff and they ceased to be friends. -

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
Probably the bleakest take on Ukraine I've read to date - because in the end when the money stops then it game over and private creditors don't like to take haircuts - they privatise the profit and socialise the losses. If you don't realise that Zelenskiy is desperate to sue for peace now probably on poor terms then you probably don't understand the conflict. https://foreignpolicy.com/2024/07/26/ukraines-other-problem-spiraling-debt/ So, as the Ukrainian economy—it’s totally perverse—recovers from the depths of the shock that it suffered from the Russian invasion in 2022, it is required to make payments. And we’re talking about billions of dollars of debt service added to which are the IMF loans at 8 percent-plus interest. And so Ukraine has a very considerable debt service obligation running to several percentage points of GDP—it depends on how it’s calculated—which it’s desperately trying to renegotiate. I think it’s very difficult to imagine a full-on default. But it puts huge stress on Ukraine at a time when it’s struggling militarily and when it is trying, in fact, to assemble an adequate package of support from the outside to enable it to continue the war into what looks like a fourth year at this point. A really grim prospect. -

Is this Apple Video insulting to Thailand ?
As soon as they leave their country? It seems to me many of them don't have to leave their country for that. 😉 -

Is this Apple Video insulting to Thailand ?
I don't think Thais should be insulted. It's the Americans that should be insulted by this video, showing them off as a bunch of idiots as soon as they leave their home country. But, let's face it, it's that Jewish comedy style that is so prevalent now in comedy movies. Anybody watched Dumb & Dumber, or The Interview? -

Confused regarding severance pay for private school contract teachers
3 foreign teachers reached the retirement age of 60 at a private school I now of. They paid out full severance to all three (all 3 at 15+ years in the school. The school wanted them out so they paid severance. It may well not be the law, but they paid anyway. This paves the way for cheaper non-native speaking teachers (50% of the outgoing teacher's salaries), so it is basically a money saving scheme over the long term. -

Thoughts on the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics
Ah, I wondered how long it would take you out yourself. LGBT+ are fascists, pedophiles and perverts eh? Sad, tired old perjoratives and insults. Shame your traditional morals don't include basic decency.- 1

Cigna International Medical Insurance Domicile (worldwide cover) Question
Cigna offers international medical insurance (worldwide cover) from at least two different domiciles, in particular: Guernsey & Belgium. I'm concerned Cigna chose its Guernsey domicile to avoid stricter UK consumer protection regulations. Cigna also sells this insurance through its Belgium domicile, which I suspect offers better consumer protection. By consumer protection, I mean things like rules on maximum processing time for pre-approval and claim payment request. Also, if there's a dispute with Cigna, a customer wants the most transparent appeal process with reasonable time limit on decisions. My questions are: 1) Does Cigna international medical insurance sold by its Belgium company offer better consumer protection than its Guernsey company? 2) Can a customer choose which Cigna domiciled company they buy from? If so, how? (I'm a US citizen.) -
