Rooting a Galaxy S4 - anyone tried?

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried to root a Galaxy S4? - If so, did it all go well - in particular, did it ruin any of the existing features?

As far as my minor Google research tells: The outcome of a rooting depends pretty much on exact model, and I'm mainly interested in experiences with the GT-I9500 model.

Okay so I just tried rooting my phone using the tutorial found on internet and followed the instructions exactly and when I run Motochopper and it does it process and I get this:

[*]Rooting Phone....

[+]This may take a few minutes.

[-]Failure.[*]Cleaning up....[*]Exploit complete. Press enter to reboot and exit.

Press any key to continue....

The phone had the stock ROM, so I'm not sure why it failed maybe T-Mobile had the phone so you can't root it, help!

What is the exact make and model of your phone? If a T-Mo/SGS4 variant then it may be an SGH-M919?

Where did you buy it?

Is it unlocked? That is to say, can you use any SIM in it?
