Hi all

Can anyone please tell me where is a decent off licence/bottle shop/liquor store in the town centre. There used to be one on the main drag between the Wiang Inn hotel and Muang Thong restaurant opposite the newspaper/book shop. Is it still there? I'm looking for decent vodka and gin for presents and want a bit more choice than 100 Pipers and Black Cat etc!! Don't want to go out to Big C either!!

Thanks to all

Not much in town mate, the little shop on the left heading north just before Doi Chaang Coffeeshop traffic lights on the main street may be worth a look.

If you don't want to go to Big C then mentioning Tops at Central is a waste of time as well.

Ok thanks, but is the wee shop beside Wiang Inn hotel still there? By the way, where is the Doi Chaang coffee shop?

Along Phaholyothin Road towards the western entrance of Robinsons/Central. Coming from Night Bazaar, you will pass by the Ruanthip Hotel where the sperm pub is located. The booze shop is almost right across the hotel on the right side if coming from Night Bazaar - heading towards Robinsons.

There's a brand new shopping mall on the super highway Coolin, hard to miss if you are traveling south, it's opposite Big C.

Robinsons is the department store and Tops is the supermarket, both have save local shoppers many trips to Chiang Mai.

If you haven’t been here for ten years, you won’t recognize the place. Depending on the kind of person you are, you will love it or hate it, because it is very different. Just take a deep breath and go with the flow.smile.png
