Can an iphone from Thailand be used with overseas sim?

I'm flying to the Uk tomorrow and someone there is buying me a prepaid SIM card. I bought my iphone in an Apple store here in Bangkok, is it locked to Thai sims or can the uk one work in it?

Bought from Apple as a sim free phone, it can work anywhere.

I've just returned from the UK and purchased a SIM for my Thai factory unlocked IPhone whilst I was there and it worked fine.

I paid £15 in Carphone Warehouse for sim on the 3 network which gave me all you can eat data for a month and more minutes and SMS messages than I could have used during my one month visit.

I was in Europe for 2 months with a in Thailand bought iPhone 5.

Bought on arrival in Europe a Vodafone Sim card and worked perfectly in 6 European Countries (Mainland Europe Only)

It works. Even when you come back, you can call using your Thai Sim card.-
