Confuscious Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Since 2 weeks, when I click on a link in my browser another window titled "about:blank" appears with some advertising. I have run a Virus scan, but it didn't find anything suspect. I guess it must be some kind of Java applet running in the background. Do you know how to get rid of this applet? TIA
RichCor Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 If this is a WindowsOS PC then I'd suggest running the free-version of Malwarebyte. Another good piece of software for scanning for this is Ad-Aware from lavasoft. Also check your Browser Proxy ConfigurationCheck to see if any toolbars or unwanted extensions have been added to your browser.
