Here ,this is strange thing i saw at MFL uni. I wonder why they put the Air-con here? any idea?

Perhaps they're trying to condition the air? scientific research maybe? or artistic statement?

an antidote to all that over-groomed shrubbery and statuary about?

Indeed, why here? I wonder why here?

An enormeous six lane road of about three kilometers starting from a T-crossing with the little two lane road between King Mengrai and Ban Panjamorn to the narrow two lane road going straight to the airport (passing two parallel bridges)

Part of a ringroad on an old masterplan for Chiang Rai town? This plan must have been changed as the big housing development of Koolpunt blocks any extension direction south.

Anyhow, the sweet thing of it all is the path for the blind at both sides of the road (the yellow tiles).

Probably to make it visually more attractive the yellow tiles are boarded with green tiles.

Every forty meters the blind are enabled to guide themselves to the roadside to board tuk-tuks, songtaews, commit suicide or undertake other adventurous actions.

Seen in Chiang Rai,

Traffic lights in strategic positions.

Sometimes, as traffic lights actually are supposed to do, they switch from green to red.

You won't notice however if you aren't halfway the crossing yet.

To see if they are green you have to proceed to the same position.

Well, maybe it´s a rich place?

In the poorer places I lived, they´d have those moisturising fans outdoors, the ones that distribute the lightest spray of water

Limbo :o

Passing the same crossing today I noticed that the traffic light on the middle picture in the mean time has been attached to the pole in front of it. So we weren't the only ones who noticed it.
