Any recommendations for cheap places to stay in Thaton?

Featured Replies

Loads of places on google, but a personal recommendation is always good.

Around 500 baht is my budget.

In the town is best, but will have a car, so not far out of town is OK too.

Thanks.

Garden Home Bungalows. Variety of rooms...the ones back from the river a bit should be well below your budget. Pleasant spot.

tha ton garden riverside. basic, clean with restaurant, food not bad, overlooking the river. i found the staff friendly.

if coming from c.m, fang, go over the bridge, first left, a couple of hundred meters up the road.

google it.

if you are feeling energetic go to the wat on the hill for a good view of the surounding countryside.

happy travels.

I stayed at Garden Home, and can recommend it.

I ended up cutting my stay short so I could afford a river front room for the view of the jungle on other side of the river- priceless.

For a longer stay the 500 baht rooms are adequate with hot water, tv ( Thai only ) and AC.

The restaurant has very reasonable prices and a great view.

If anyone goes there, don't miss the temple top of the hill for a fantastic view.

I lived in Thaton for 4 years and it is a great place to hang out for a while. I enjoy Garden Home and I like the 800 baht bungalow with air conditioning. They do have 4 rooms for 200 baht but those are usually filled with guides and van drivers from tour companies whos clients are staying there. They have small bungalows for 500 baht wiht no air.

Along the river across from the tourist police there are fan rooms for 200 baht. What most people don't know is you can stay at the temple for a donation. They have several small bungalows that are used by some monks and visiting Thais but you can stay there if you wish. I stayed there for 2 years and Loved it.

Have fun,

Randy
