I am explaining to my wife that this should be the standard air quality every day...despite human behavior as air polluters one in awhile nature always bats last...unfortunately it will last about 24 hours... Think back to this day come December..

Certainly a beaut-sitting out on the terrace above the river-only sound is the birds feathered) and small waterfall. Very very clear blue skies and surprising how pleasantly cool 24c feels here. Life is good...

It's been said before but thanks dave2.

We can always rely on you for a visual to back up many a post.

I live a couple hours outside Chiangmai so I couldn't just stick my head out the door to see for myself.laugh.png

God's gift to you greenhorns to let you know what Chiang Mai was like before you arrived in your millions and fouled the nest.

Greenhorns?

Millions?

When I walked outside this morning, i was thinking this is an exceptionally lovely day, perhaps the clearest and with the best temp of any day I can recall here. Glad to see others noticed it as well.

OK, I exaggerated a bit.

I was speaking in round figures, as it were.

But what is no exaggeration is the good quality of Chiang Mai air before the boom-years of the mid '80s. The city was famous for the clarity of its air until the number of people and vehicles exploded at that time.

The visibility seemed to decline along with the quality of farangs.

It's a moot point as far as the Kohn Muang are concerned. Just wait until those loudmouthed proles from the north take over Chiang Mai tourism and property markets.

Prices will go sky-high and low-rent farangs will be sweet nostalgia.
