i just arrived back from my trip to chiang rai and am right now in bkk. Drove a rented honda from a thai friend and actually drove from imperial hotel at chiang saen right into chiang rai city and there was a police spot road block too towards the city. Cop just waved me by. Yup it was fun too. Even hit the 100km/h speed limit.
