Bicycle Racing Championship in Hua Hin

HUA HIN: -- The Klai Klangwon Bicycle Club of Hua Hin, with the cooperation of the Hua Hin Municipality and other organisations, is hosting the Hua Hin Bicycle Racing Championship on 5th December 2013.

Aimed to promote good health amongst local people, especially youth and to encourage them to stay away from illicit drugs, the Event also celebrates the King's birthday on 5th December 2013 and aims to boost tourism in Hua Hin.

Winners will be awarded the trophies of Their Majesties the King and Queen, reported the chairman of Klai Kangwon Bicycle Club of Hua Hin Mr. Somchai Krajaejerm.

The competition will be held between 30th November to 1st December 2013 at the Hua Hin Clock Tower and the Boh Fai Shooting Field. There are two categories: mountain bike racing for the King’s trophy and the road bicycle racing for the Queen’s trophy.

Road bicycle racing is divided into 9 sub-categories: 130 km. racing for males, 115 km. racing for 30-30 year old males, 115 km. racing for 40-49 year old males, 100 km. racing for females and males of over 50 years old, 100 km. racing for youths, 100 km. racing for males of over 40 years old, 70 km. racing and 35 km. VIP racing. All categories will take place on 1st December 2013 at 9 a.m. from the Clock Tower to the Hin Lek Fire Hill.

Mountain bike racing is sub-categorized into 3 groups: Group A (40 kms.), Group B (25 kms.) and Group C (10 kms.). It will begin at 11 a.m. on 2nd December 2013 at the Boh Fai Shooting Field.

Application fees for each of the above mentioned sub-categories is 350 Baht per person.
