Car Road Tax Renewal (if 7 years+ old)

Featured Replies

Maybe out of the loop, not having a Thai wife or girlfriend, but was caught out yesterday at the Land Transport office by the unexpected advice that I need an inspection and a formal pass certificate before the tax disc renewal could be processed. Not difficult, being easy to find the inspection location (south on the Hang Dong road, through the lights, u-turn, and back towards the lights just after the Toyota sales office / garage. Check of brakes and exhaust emissions, highly automated, 15 minutes, 200 baht. And good to know that there are such checks in place. (Just in case of benefit to TV members.)

There is also one next door to the other Transport Office near Holiday Inn.

They are all over C.M .Look for the yellow tooted wheel symbol .

Motor bikes need test certificate after 5 years old.

Cars need test certificate after 7 years old.

Send some of the test center from Sweden here. They are very critical and, have to many stations in that country.

So all of those old trucks and songteaws in town pumping out thick smoke have done this test and passed?
