The Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens in Chiang Mai is currently hosting a Botanic Festival, and you don't have to be a botanist to enjoy the show.

From now until December 5 visitors to the garden will be transported in a kingdom of beauty of blooms and foliage with highlights including a rare tropical plant collection, world-record orchids - tiniest and largest, an academic corner and a plant-based cocktail competition. The Botanical Gardens, which boast the country's largest collection of tropical plants, are in Mae Rim district. Call (053) 841 234 or visit www.QSBG.org.
