Need Help With The Police

Hi,

I'm married to a Thai lady in Bangkok. Things were not working out so well and I wanted to return home to the USA. My wife stole my airline ticket and then made a fake divorce certificate. She then paid the police to arrest me for theft of a car, 400,000B and a cell phone.

I paid my bail, 140,000B, bought another airline ticket and left the country. If the police can be bought, so can the judge. Now my wife says that she has paid the police to clear the problem and that I can come back to Thailand. But I have no way to verify this.

I was thinking that I could call the main police station in Bangkok, but I don't have their number. Can anyone help me. A phone number or email would be great. Also, if anyone has any advice, I will take that too:)

What fun it was to live in Thailand:(

Thanks in advance.

I take it you're back in the USA?

I'd start by contacting the Thai Embassy in the USA and the US Embassy in Bangkok with your story and see what they advise.

It sounds to me like you have had a very bad deal but it also seems like you are up against someone who is very calculating who has probably totally covered her tracks by now.

Personally (and it is all too easy for me to say) I'd write the whole thing off to bad experience and thank your lucky stars you got away unless you can provide solid proof to incriminate your wife.

Good luck, but sadly you are not the first and will not be the last either.

Sounds like a great relationship. My advise is to rush straight back to Thailand with lots of money, deposit into your wife's account and let her rob you blind yet again.

Was that really neccessary ! ! :o

No, I should have sugar coated it and assured him that he is doing the right thing by trusting the woman that put him into jail, bribed and lied to the police, stole from him and is further lying to him in an effort to get back at him. Wake up ans smell the #######!

Probably for someone who is unable to find the phone number of a Bangkok police station! :D !

Mark,

I guess you need to know if your name and/or passport number is red flagged by immigration.

How you find that out, I don't know.

Maybe thru a good (sic) BKK lawyer?

Maybe someone on here knows?

Re the Bail money.

If you were given an official receipt for the 140Kb it looks like you would be in the system and I guess you jumped bail if you're back in the USA.

I would never trust your wife again, she could pull the same stunt again should you fall out of favour again.

"Connected" Thais can say & do anything they like, they even get away with murder.

Good luck.

and if you did jump bail....... :D

Just suppose that you did manage to telephone the Chief of Police in Bangkok(Pol Gen Som Muttersdohaveem)and he said YES No Problem ..We would be happy to have YOU come back any time..... :o ....Would you believe him?

I think you would be taking a huge risk coming back.

Both with the cops and your wife :D Your wife is obviously a

nasty piece of work, and may simply be setting a trap for you. :o

If you do decide to come back, I would suggest you read some of the

stories about Thai prisons first.

Naka.

Thank you everyone, especially the person who actually gave me the link to the Thai police dept. All of you had some good advice, so thank you. I have many friends in Thailand, and just the one very bad experience. Someday, I would like to return. So thank you again and have a happy day.
