Chemical Truck Overturns in Bangkok, Releasing Toxic Orange Vapours
Pictures from responds. A nitric acid tanker overturned near the Bang Bua Thong interchange, emitting hazardous vapours and prompting an emergency response. The six-wheeled chemical transport truck driver, lost control and overturned on the Western Ring Road, along the elevated Highway 345, while heading towards Pathum Thani on the morning of 21st February. The crash resulted in a leak of nitric acid, releasing thick orange fumes and a sharp, pungent odour that spread across the roadway. Emergency services were alerted at approximately 09:45 and dispatched firefighters from Lahan Municipality along with specialist rescue teams to contain the spill. Concerned motorists reported the fumes seeping into their vehicles, prompting authorities to close the affected section of the road to prevent further exposure. The overturned vehicle, a Hino box truck registered in Nakhon Pathom, had been transporting four 1,000-litre containers of nitric acid from Samut Sakhon to Pathum Thani. The impact of the crash caused one of the containers to rupture, with the acid corroding the truck’s metal frame and releasing the orange vapours. Firefighters used water spray to suppress the vapours and prevent further hazards before removing the damaged truck and its remaining chemical cargo. The operation was completed without any reported injuries. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the crash and reviewing safety measures for the transportation of hazardous materials. -- 2025-02-22 -

Why do The Cars sound like Boston? Anybody know?
Elliot Easton...a decent guitar player. The band...pop goes the weasel... live performance was the equivalent of listening to a "cassette tape" loud...both a waste of time and $$$ Next up "Boston" Tom Sholz ..not even a "decent" guitar player ... and they should have paid people to sit thru their interpretation of a performance.. but hey, some people are happy and satisfied eating corn flakes and believing they are nutritious. -

ETA
They're not going to abandon the ETA for many reasons. It's the only way they'll be able to introduce automated gates on entry for one thing. Getting all of the visa exempt people in through automated gates would do the most in streamlining the entry process. And then the biggest factor, it's really the only way they'll be able to implement the tourist entry tax they've been spouting about for years now. When all that money is involved, they will find a way to get it working eventually. -

Lexicographers write dictionaries, this guy is just writing common sense and is sad, that he has to! He doesn't have to. He should instead be doing his Job--Something related to health or human services.
