From AIDS-infected dentists to lesbian daughters and animal rights to reproductive rights, I had to brace myself for the social commentary at the onset of every episode. Psimbo Posted February 7, 2019 Share Posted February 7, 2019 I gave up on Animal Kingdom the first time round and really wish I hadn't on reflection. it's based on an Australian film of the same name. I gave it another go and ended up binge watching the first three seasons. Ellen Barkin is just creepy with her 'hey Bay-bees' talking to her grown up sons and you just know there has been some mommy stuff going on in the past but it pulls together well. Some stunning Latina actresses but they are all over shadowed by Nepali-Tibetan/German-Australian actress Dichen Lachman who, although a bit flat chested, is absolutely stunning. Season 4 is now in production. Not watched it yet but got some good reviews is Michael Portillo's Great Canadian Railway Journeys. Psimbo Posted February 13, 2019 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Maybe one of the few remakes that worked well to me was the first couple of seasons of House of Cards. Spacey was superb. The final season was dross and I binned it after two episodes. Going back in time All in the Family was the US version of til Death do us Part and pretty good for its time.
