Body of 30-Year-Old Man Found in Chao Phraya River: Apparent Suicide Linked to Depression
Police in Nonthaburi province discovered the body of a 30-year- old man in the Chao Phraya River near Wat Tamnak Tai pier on November 22, following his disappearance two days earlier. The man, identified as Mr. Nopparat, reportedly suffered from depression and left a farewell note before taking his own life by jumping from the Phra Nang Klao Bridge. At approximately 17:00, officers from Rattanathibet Police Station responded to a report of a body floating in the river. Accompanied by forensic experts and rescue workers, they recovered the body, which was found in a decomposed state, face down in the water. The deceased was wearing a black shirt and jeans, with tattoos on his back. CCTV footage from November 20 captured the man walking beneath the Phra Nang Klao Bridge around 22:43 before vanishing from view. Earlier that day, at 15:00, police had intercepted Mr. Nopparat as he appeared to be preparing to jump from the bridge. They returned him to his condominium, but he later disappeared again. His family reported him missing to the Bang Sri Muang Police Station. A handwritten note found in his belongings revealed the man's deep emotional distress. In it, he detailed feelings of betrayal and despair, reflecting on a difficult life marked by abandonment, a history tied to human trafficking, and personal struggles with mental health. "I'm confused, hurt, and heartbroken," he wrote. Despite his gratitude toward those who raised him, he expressed a sense of hopelessness, ultimately leading to his tragic decision. Ms. Malinee, the victim's younger sister, recounted that her brother, who worked as an assistant in an accounting department and lived alone in a condominium, often shared his struggles with her. He had recently confided fears that someone intended to harm him. Despite her efforts to support him, she believes his severe depression and stress led to his suicide. "He always came to me for advice, but this time, he kept it all inside. I'm heartbroken," she said. Authorities' Actions The police and forensic team are conducting further investigations. Mr. Nopparat's tragic story underscores the profound impact of mental health issues and the need for greater awareness and support for those battling depression. Foreign man flees after sexually assaulting Thai woman in condo lift - video
Nobody goes through life without experiencing frightening situations, it is as it is, they are to be mastered, not exaggerated. She appeared self assured enough to demand that he be caught, as he has been and will go through due process and be punished. Yes I have a daughter and also stepdaughters, one of whom experienced an uncalled for slapping as a teenager and so suffered physical harm as well as fear while she was a member of my household (She was in my care since she was a small child and is now a mother herself). I handled it without drama and reported the matter to the police, they considered it a family matter and refused to do anything until I threatened them with a lawyer accusing them of dereliction of duty, he had to pay her 10,000 Baht compensation and the matter was settled. Although not on the best of terms they still have superficial contact. -

Elderly British Man Injured in Electric Tricycle Crash in Pattaya
The fact that he was going much slower than say a motorcycle would have been did not help. Can't recall for sure but I think the guy had a right of way, but nobody knows what that is, or think they all got it. No worse than the samlor, food cart type vehicles, all trying to get across too. -
