Opinions please. If a fee was imposed and the money raised went to orphanages, what a wonderful world it would be. And also cut down on rubbish content on TV. Vote me in. The money would be donated with compliments of TV and the OP.

50 baht per post... are you crazy?

How could Thaksin or Suthep continue to pay for all the members (according to some here) they pay to post in the Thailand News branch :)

. Think of the children Kerrie , not reasons not to do it.

I think its a good idea but unlikely to be implemented as it requires software development changes and associated costs to this business.

It would certainly cut down troll posts but would lead to a substantial reduction in threads raised on this forum and thus a potential decline in advertising revenue. Thus, the owner of this forum would be unlikely to proceed with the idea. Members would look for a new forum that is free. It would be the same if fbook started charging its members.

FORUM: a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

Not bought and sold.

Yep, count me out. I'd just open my own Thai forum and watch my business grow from such an idea.

george has proved himself a very prudent businessman so I doubt he'd be interested in this. Anyway, the trolls always get a reaction and produce more and more keywords to grow visitor numbers and keep people looking at the ads.

To be fair, some forums impose membership fees. But never fees per post.

If Jingthing got back charged 50 baht a post it would be 2,359,200 baht.

actually the idea of donating to orphanages is great , maybe another way though so that no one goes into a panic.

I seem to recall, many years ago, George briefly flirted with the idea of introducing membership

fees (or similar) to Thaivisa.

It wasn't well received and didn't eventuate.

Any idea to help the children suits me . I have a little bitter taste in my mouth now , donated 3000 baht to said orphanage for a lawn mower so the children could have a clean grassed area to play on . There was a guy who did the lawn mowing and done a great job. Now the lawn mower sits unused as the nice guy left.

I will still help you in any way aveabeeror2

As JT has already said the OPs idea is daft, so daft that you have to wonder why he even posted it?

I have always believed that donating to charity is personal and up to the individual. Any proselytising just turns me right off sad.png

A very silly idea IMO. If people wanted to give to this charity they will do. Personally I contribute to my maximum through DD and would resent being cojoled in this way and it would likely inhibit my postings along with others.

There are many, many, many worthwhile causes in this World and people have the right to select those of their preference to help out.

Of course, the OP's is a good cause. Just make it known in the best way possible rather than selecting it for special consideration by TV users.

Besides, the administrative costs would eat away at the benefits even more than they do for most charities, unfortunately.

A charity donation is a voluntary contribution, not a charge.
