Heading for a workout in Cha-Am?



CHA-AM: -- It’s fair to say that many Hotels and Resorts around both Hua Hin and Cha-Am have gymnasium facilities with a variety of weight training equipment and a ways for you to get or keep fit. These facilities are typically available for visitors as well as guests and offer very modern and well maintained equipment in air-conditioned attractive surroundings and often with the assistance of trained staff.

However if you are the sort of person who doesn’t really want to spend up on gym equipment but would prefer a more casual local place nearby to your home and are living around Cha-Am, there are at least two ways you can join the locals and work out.

Cha Am GYM

Opening Hours: Monday – Saturday: 9 am. – 9 pm.

This is a Thai owned and managed by Khun Suriya or use his nickname is Khun Ya. It has been opened since 2008 and currently has up to 30 customers each day, coming and going throughout the opening hours. They are about 50% Thai and 50% non-Thai. It’s a friendly unsophisticated meeting point for people who want to be fit.

Chok Dee GYM

Opening Hours: Monday – Saturday: 8 am – 8 pm.

Cost: Foreigners -1,000 THB per month or daily 100 THB.
Thai 800 THB per month or daily 60 THB.
Thai boxing Training for foreigners is 300 B per hour or for Thais is 100 B per hour; including unlimited use of the gym.

This is a newly opened facility in Cha-Am owned and managed by Thai couple Khun Rose and Khun Somphot. Khun Somphot he is Thai boxer and trainer of Thai boxing, I started Thai boxing when he was 7 year old. The facility incorporates a Thai boxing ring and all you equipment you will need.
