Indian spices shop - Kad Luang

Featured Replies

There used to be a shop on the ground floor of the central market which I today searched for in vain. Has it closed down? (I had last seen it there several months - or more - ago.) If it has, can someone please recommend another one with a good range and turnover of spices and curry ingredients?

Their is a long-time run Indian spice shop inside Warot market(chinatown) - left-side building I believe.

Makro has several kinds of spice mixes, under Mothers brand, made in

India ,so they are the genuine thing, small boxes, enough to make 5/6

curries and only 40-45 bht

regards Worgeordie

The one in Wararot market is the best

I agree and if he doesnt have the spice you are after (Very unlikely) he will suggest where you may find it. He even has green cardamon...good for curries and in Turkish type coffee. thumbsup.gif

Yes the one in Worarot (I referred to it as Kad Luang) is the one I was looking for and couldn't find. Was I looking in the wrong building? I thought it was in the one nearer the river.... Grateful if someone will pin down the location of the shop.

No, central one, sort of on the left towards the back as you come in from CM Rd, about here: 18.790227,99.000806. He's also got saffron.

Couldn't decipher your directions, but thanks for telling me it's in a different building from the one I tried. I'll try again soon but I'm pleased to know it was my mistake and that he's still there.

It's not in the building closest to the river, but the next one -- the one with the broken escalator. The building where they sell things like dried pork rinds, nuts, and clothing on the second floor vs. the building by the river where they sell things like fresh produce, meat and live fish, toads, eels.

Just bung those co-ords into Gmaps and zoom in.

Not confirming he's still there, mind, haven't been for couple years.

OK. Wasn't aware it was google maps.

That photo looks very dated and surely not the present layout of the market area.

But I now know which building to look in.
