Some reasons why to chose Koh Phangan,

which ever bungalow or beach you're staying

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif .... come on now! tongue.png

Don't tell me you prefer to be stuck in traffic in Pattaya? giggle.gif

Will add a few more after my next trip to Koh Poo Poo, Krappi, and Fukit tongue.png

Ban Tai is probably the worst beach on KPN

Still, there is nothing on this earth that compares to the feeling of lying on an air-mattress at the coral reef (500m from the Bantai beach shore), watching the sunset on one side, full moon rise on the other, and a kaleidoscope of unearthly pastels colouring the sky in between...

Got to try that one of these days...

^ very good Joeling, that took me 10 minutes to stop laughing! thumbsup.gifcheesy.gif

I just posted some images of the Chaloklum area in the photo section at top of the main page... I'd better not link that again people get confused! facepalm.gif

I know it's A happening area around Full Moon time.It seems A little boring other times of the month.

Boring? - I used to say to my son "Only boring people are bored" :-)

Well, suppose there isn't too much action here on KPG and anyone easily bored

should maybe chose Samui, Phuket, Phi Phi or Pattaia. They do have entertainment

without end. From deckchairs, monkey theaters and water slides. From jet skis

shopping, gogo-bars and night entertainment.

We only have sand, sea and sunsets. Palm trees, hammocks and pinacolada ;-)

(Only south of Tongsala get's occasionally interrupted by noisy party people)

Great info guys.

I'm sure wherever I end up will be fantastic.

I love Thailand and although this is just a short holiday, I plan to move over for good in three years time.....retire on an island and live the simple life. I did see some beat up beach bungalows for less than $10 a night.

I'm going to have fun researching all the beaches that you've mentioned here.....that's almost as exciting as the actual trip.

Last year I spent some time in Krabi, it was beautiful, but too commercialised and touristy for my liking. I don't get bored with white sand and sunsets, but then again I'm not twenty so it's easy to chill out on nature.

Is there really raw sewerage? As I said, I'm not a fussy person but I don't fancy swimming with that.

Thanks again.....at least I've got something to work with now.

So everything south of Thong sala is only busy during FMP?

So everything south of Thong sala is only busy during FMP?

No, there's plenty of other parties, too. This time of the year, it's busy all the time. Well, busy by KPG standards. The Thong Sala - Ban Tai road also seems to be where all the new businesses establish themselves, like Big C and now Makro. The few lady bars KPG has are all there, too... It's the most Samui-resembling stretch KPG has, but not as busy as Samui.

Angthong quote ... "It's the most Samui-resembling stretch KPG has, but not as busy as Samui."

.... east of Thong sala is a different story.... but nothing close to resembling ....anything on Samui! whistling.giffacepalm.gifbiggrin.png

It varies at different times of the year.... (high seasons) now to March or so, July August, probably the busiest! wink.png
