Not in season at the moment - would a tomato do??

You mean tamato. :o

When I was a kid and I would here a Brit say, "tamoto", I always thought that they were just joking around.

Sometimes, I still think that! :o

What gets 'em is ask why a potato is pronounced 'potato'.

Only when spoken by Yanks :o:D

I've heard that Manchester accent - almost as bad as a Geordie's! :D

Only when spoken by the English you mean. :D

Some of the worst english I've ever heard, has been spoken by people supposedly schooled in "The Queen's English". I heard better english spoken by Germans (who are schooled in proper, stilted, Oxford English). In fact, the further away from England you get, the better the language becomes (well, except for small areas of Canada, the US and Australia). For the most part, the language is better preserved outside of it's origins.

Sure you find whacky dialects (like Newfie in Canada, Texan and Aussie), but it seems even worse in the tiny, small, wee part of the world where the language began (England, just how many different dialects are there in that tiny little island ?).

And what's up with adding an "r" to words like "area" ? What's up with "making porkies" and other weird expressions like "those are some minerals on you" ? Can't just say "telling lies" or "you've got balls" ?

(Then again, if you look at the original works of Shakespeare, most people today wouldn't be able to read it at all)

Where, where, where? I can't see the nice pussy! :o

:D waaa, it's our language and we are going to muck it up as much as we want.....waaaaa :D

I don't think it's English anymore, at least not in England. I think it is more properly referred to as SLANglish (English that is mostly made up of slang). :o

Hmm.. it seems the yanks are the ones who speak Slanglish, and with that annoying drawl also. They also have the cheek to make their own spellings up also.. the correct spellings aren't easy enough for the retarded like yanks to remember. :D

Oh, now that's a bowl full of @#%^ with peanuts. All one has to do is watch a Guy Richie film to see how much slang the Brits get into. :D
