I will just preface this by saying this is a longshot and I am not entirely sure who would respond or how this would work...or anyone will be interested...but just figured i would ask anyway and see what happens...

We have some cool songs which we have been writing. We got the lyrics, melodies chords and various songs which are half way complete. We have now run out of funds to develop them further...

Looking for someone who would like to be involved in these songs either to add some of their lyrics (if you can write in rhyme you can do lyrics) or music into the songs (guitar, voice, drums whatever, lyrics) or just to be involved as something fun to do and have an interest in the music and who could contribute to the studio costs.

The music is just being created for fun so there is no band or CDs or anything like that. At the end we envisage the music just going on youtube. So it is NOT something that would have any financial return it could only have a creative return. But if you haven't got anything creative going then that could quite a small but significant positive if you have the time perhaps.

So on that basis, the kind of people who may be interested are people who would like to add their own lyrics/music on the tracks or who want to sing some harmonies or who are just seriously bored and want to get out of the house and do something that is creatively interesting...for example you could say stick a horn or a sax on this one etc or no that sounds terrible need to do that again...you don't have to know any music just have large ears and can contribute to the studio costs...

Having sometimes read various thai visa posts asking what is the point... I think doing something creative like music is what a lot of people need...so this could be interesting for you...but I guess realistically if you dont any music at all you may find it difficult to contribute much beyond lyrics (that being said I myself an not a musical expert and have only intermediate knowledge and they always let me in) perhaps i just have an evil plan to flood the musical studio of chiang mai with a team of beginners and intermediates to make those sound engineers brains simmer, boil and explode ha ha ...so anyway up to you all...you could alongside doing this start to learn a musical instrument...you would then be ahead of all other beginners who just have learn tedious stuff without actually working on their own songs or seeing how easily music can come together...

I'm currently busy working on my own musical project, but I may be able to find time to work with you if the musical style works for me - which may be a long shot, but I'm genuinely interested in meeting like-minded musos locally. thanks for all of your input on this topic. I have now thought about it and have a more practical suggestion for any of the limited number of people who may be interested.

I am looking for someone who is interested in collaborating on some half finished songs who knows how to use an ipad to record music such as voice/guitar etc who would be interested in making/completing these songs with me an a collaborator and who has the tech knowhow to use an ipad/garage band or other app (i have got these already items but don't know how to use the tech)...

2.

i guess as a further separate and later point it would be fun to perform the tunes in cambodia...we currently have a singer and guitarist so if you can play drums/bass keyboards would be interested to hear from you...but the tunes arent finished yet so this second point is not yet applicable but you can always reply if this topic by now a few months old as the tunes may be done by then and i understand bass players are very hard to find...

You have posted in the right place to find seriously bored people but finding the creative ones you need is very much less likely. You should be able to teach yourself to use Garage Band, even I made music with it.

Thanks for the idea...but when I have to use computers to try and do things like this it just gives me a major headache and I totally lose any fun that there would have been originally. Although I am putting lots of energy into this stuff I am doing just for enjoyment so I don't think I can go that route and instead am trying to find someone who interested in being involved and is more technically capable....but yes maybe I will end up having to try that ...

Have anyway had a couple of interesting replies so there is hope yet and this post was really worth making as it turns out...

just go down to cambodia now plenty of creative people there and they can jam away all day long without fear of the police busting you for having fun
