Dermatologist/Suggestions?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I've had a red bump on the tip of my nose that has appeared, gone away and left a dry skin patch and now returned over the past 7 weeks or so. I thought it was a pimple or an outbreak of eczema, but the fact that it has returned is bugging me.

Does anyone know of a dermatologist or the appropriate route to take? I have health insurance provided by my job - would it be best to just go to the hospital and see what happens from there? Or should I immediately go to the dermatologist?

Have a look ar the pinned doctor list.

Dr. Seri comes highly recommended.

Also I believe Tywais recommended a very good lady at Ram.

Odd, seems mine is missing from the list. Anyway, the one I've been using for the last few years is CHATBONGKOCH KHEMACHEEWAKUL,M.D at Chiang Mai Ram. Also VACHIRAPORN SUJARITWANICHPONG, M.D. at RAM has been recommended by several members. Here is a previous topic on it - Dermatology clinic needed

Chiang Mai Ram

Dr Smith (Thai!!) is a friend and, I think, a good dermo. He has a clinic open at 6.30pm I think, just inside the moat along Moon Muang by Loi Kroh.Clinic not imposing, but he is a good man

I just visited CM Ram, and had an appointment with Dermatologist MD Vachiraporn Sujaritwanichpong. This Dermatologist is the best I have ever been to. I saw where she has been recommended by other ThaiVisa members and rightfully so. :-)

The list of recommended practitioners is incomplete, somewhat out-of-date, and despite best intentions of the originator, a bit "skewed." When it comes to dermatologists, there are some other good ones above, and, then, there is a new clinic at Sriphat which has a very competent specialist. Check with their marketing people.

I've been going to Dr Seri for a couple of years. Very good and unlike an un-named Doctor at another un-named hospital, his charges are very reasonable. (The other guy had "Ferang Cash Register Lights flashing in his eyes.)

The only one better than him, is my GP back home, Dr Slice 'N Dice but I can't afford air fares back and forwards every six months.

Sawasdee Khrup, Khun DarkDreamerX,

I saw Dr. Seri in his night-time clinic near the Sompjet Market on Moon Muang about ten days ago; I had seen him once before many years ago.

I think he's very competent, and skilled, and he's friendly, and his English is excellent, but his clinic is most often very crowded, and my sense is he, at times, cannot take the time to interact with you and give instructions on medication use to the extent that is optimal. At least that was the case when I saw him this year; he definitely did not tell me what he should have told me about applying the medication he gave me ... fortunately, I immediately searched for the medication on the internet, and found indications for its correct application.

But, my recent experience is just one point of observation; it may not be at all typical. And, I am sure the meds were the right ones. So, your mileage may vary.

to your health, ~o:37;

seems like it is psoriasis..this can be treated with betnovate cream/ dermovate cream...

a simple trip to any pharmacy will tell you what you have.

psorias does not go away..you have it for life...it may just move around different parts of the body..

simple test...is the skin white in color and raised...and flakes off...then under neath it is very red...if so it is psoriasis...
