Modest conference venue in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi there folks,

We are m looking for a conference venue to host about 100 people for a five day conference next year. It can be a hotel or other set-up, with or without accommodation and food catering, but definitely something that can cater for a proper conference - at a good price. Somewhere reasonably close to the Old City so that lengthy commuting is unnecessary. Thinking 3 star hotel, not 5 star orthe rates they charge. It does not have to be a hotel, perhaps some large community centre, but definitely something that has basic amenities.

Also looking for a local Thai person who speaks good English and can liaise between the conference venue and conference organisers.

Appreciate any input.

YMCA. Not sure if they have a facility but would be good to check. They have a busy training centre with instructors on the payroll. Close-ish to RAM hospital. If not speak to one of the INGOs - they will know the best deals.

Maybe contact the Centara Duangtawan, they seem to host business things there all the time from all over Thailand.

Take your pick of hotels and candidate staff, perhaps do a search on Agoda for three star rating and then contact/negotiate directly, there's no shortage of supply hence budget is the only real issue. But, you said in the OP "next year", do you mean 2014 or 2015?

Check your inbox.

Also I don't know much about it but I believe the Mormon temple has facilities for a conference. It is in the old city.
