Poor Fella ... I wonder how he got to Thailand in the first place ....

plane? people do talk, even ones with problems, perhaps he was told it was anice place to be. Since the police took him to hospital, then he paid his bill and left, it appears he has funds

They "believed he may be suffering from Alzheimers" and put him in a hotel ???????????

The poor guy needs to be evaluated and treated medically, if that has not been done already.

How is this guy ever going to be able to or allowed to board an Aircraft in his confused state ?????????

No Airline will accept him as a passanger in that state even if accompanied by a family mmber or other person.

He has to be "Cleared Medically to Fly" and approved by the Chief Medical Officer of the Airline he will be flying on.

Another obvious case of "kicking the can down th road" by both Thai authorities, his Embassy, and his family

This is Thailand dude, he's lucky they didn't tie him to a chair or something. Not much in the way of mental health care here. He sounds pretty lucky to me, all things condidrred

A sad story, but he does have a smile on his face. Glad he will be going home soon and

I hope he can get some much needed support there.

Surprised the cops aren't smiling - easiest tea money fine from a ferrang for no crash helmet

Somebody whose short term memory has gone cannot be left alone for a moment. Once I had no other choice than escorting somebody back to the airport myself, the guy's short term memory was completely destroyed because of alcohol abuse. By speaking to him very forcefully I managed to keep him off the booze his last 2 days in Thailand. I had contacted his embassy (Austria) already, but of course they were not able to send somebody over to babysit him. At the airport I stayed with him till check in time, after which I released him into the care of Thai staff of the airline he would fly with, I had already explained them the situation.

If i would have left this guy alone at HKT, after 5 minutes he wouldn't have remembered anymore what he was supposed to do there.

I guess if somebody is at least sober, and like this Hungarian bloke doesn't really look like he is about to drop dead, checking in and boarding the aircraft shouldn't be a problem.

Somebody should contact his family, who could maybe pay some money which then can be used to pay somebody for watching over him till he boards the aircraft in a presentable state.

I am certainly not going to poke any fun at this guy. It's probably difficult on his family and frustrating for him, but I had to smile and thought it was appropriate to make a joke about the guy definitely being mentally troubled when I read, "He likes to get food at Vachira Hospital". Perhaps it has changed, but when I was growing up, it was generally agreed that hospital food is the worst-tasting and/or blandest stuff around, so anybody who seeks it, must be a little....

Once again, I mean no disrespect to this guy, and I am not trying to be mean, so don't treat me like I pulled a "Costas2008".

so don't treat me like I pulled a "Costas2008".

Oh dear Costas, maybe you will get a listing in the Urban Dictionary :)
