Went to top up my AIS 3g ......expired ripoff

Featured Replies

topped up my AIS 3g for my tablet last week with 300 baht at suvrnaphumi ,, no problem, today went into AIS in Central pattaya to top up and was told ,'' Sim is expired , buy new cannot top up '' so they want me to pay another 250 Baht for a new Sim ,,

I have TOT land line 7mb at home so my 3g sim is a luxury for conveinience but my phone SIMs hold credit for months even when i am offshore and expiry dates without topup are late 2015 so whats going on with mobile data topups here ,, I dont want to pay monthly as i travel a lot out of thiland on business and have other Sims for UAE, EU and UK .

Have you tried to go online. It should be possible and they will charge you for usage.by bites,

Have you got the AIS e-service app installed on your phone. You can check your balance and expiration date. You can also select package for data service on it.

When those no-account sims aren't used for a period, the telecoms assume they are abandoned, disable the sims and recycle the numbers. How long did you go between usage?

And another thing, I believe you can get a sim from AIS for 50฿

I know true packages stay active for long time but true 3g is crap ,50 baht sims are for phone only according to AIS

I paid Power Buy on the 5th floor of Central Chidlom 50 THB for a SIM for my tablet just 4 days ago and topped it up with the 1G unlimited streaming for 399 at the AIS shop next door!

Went back to AIS today with my other spare sim which I was certain had expired as its sat in my laptop bag for at least 4 month and it topped up 399 baht OK ,, asked about buying another and the girl said no more stock of 50b SIM .?????/TIT

..expired ripoff

perhaps it has got to do with which plan you chose or it is defaulted too.

my long time plan expires 1 year after last topup.

plans also affect the price of calls,

I went in to the AIS Store in Central Chidlom yesterday and asked a man behind the counter to cancel SMS from AIS on my Nexus 4 phone. Until I read it here, I had had no idea that AIS could send you all of those messages AND charge you for them. Now I'm unsure that the 399 X 2 that I paid for unlimited streaming in March And April will count or not. Apparently the SMS messages can suck money away from the amounts that you pay. I'll have to check again on Feb. 22nd when my next unlimited monthly period is to begin. Any comments or pointers, please.

You have been misled and lied to. From my experience True 3G is a lot better than the AIS 3G, also True offers 4G now. I'm pretty sure a tablet can take a phone SIM, no need for special 250 THB tablet SIMs.

Yup it's a scam AIS (and other providers too to some degree) been feeding on. I've been with AIS for years before moving to True and had to cancel their money-sucking-SMS offers more than once. After a while they start sending them again so watch it.
