February 19, 201412 yr A friend will be visiting Khon Kaen and he would like to know where he can find a good sandwich and where he can find a good salad. Looking for a place in the morning and afternoon. Thanks
February 19, 201412 yr Author Try bring bringing your own. Is it that Bad? There has to be some places to get these with all the farangs in Khon Kaen.
February 19, 201412 yr Don't let them drag you down It should not be impossible. First have a look at the small "farang street" from Kosa hotel to Pullman hotel. At least two farang bars have food on offer (the one next to Seven-11 is quite popular). At Central shopping center there a lot of eating places also with western style food (like a steak house with salad buffet). I am living 100 km from KK and only do shopping trips, so don't know too much details. "Mickeys Pizza" has a good reputation and seems like they have sandwiches on offer too: http://www.tripadvisor.de/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g297926-d3731305-i84167598-Mickey_s_Pizza-Khon_Kaen_Khon_Kaen_Province.html
February 19, 201412 yr I would say the best place to get a sandwich / salad in the morning would either be Sizzler or the TOPS market (ground floor) at the Central Plaza meaning 10:30 AM when it opens weekdays / 10 AM weekends The best local alternative would be Didines around the corner from the Pullman which opens at 4 PM http://didines.com
February 19, 201412 yr I would say Sizzlers. There is also an old Thai lady just off Sri Chan road on the road that Number 1 bar is on...sorry don't know name. She does French bread sandwiches just like you get in Lao.
February 20, 201412 yr That would be Na Muang (Na Mueang) road. But thats a long stretch, so maybe hard to find. Unfortunately I can not find the exact location of the Number 1 bar. Adress "39/7 Namuang Road" will not help much. Poor internet presence. Corner of Sri Chan and Na Mueang: http://goo.gl/maps/2Cfp7
February 20, 201412 yr The lady selling the banh mi sandwiches is 50 meters past north side of sri chan road on the west side of na meuang -- a little shop on the corner of the side street that goes off on an angle to the west.
February 20, 201412 yr Author Thanks for the replies. Looks like between Kosa and Pullman are the places to go. Mickys looks pretty good.

From your description it would be here (green arrow): http://goo.gl/maps/SffPV Surprise: Sri Chan road is on Google Street View now. Did you know? The link shows the view northward up Na Mueang road.
February 20, 201412 yr The salad bar in all Sizzlers is excellent IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
February 21, 201412 yr Best sandwich I have found in KK is the Chicken Caesar at MamaBig. Mamabig, is near KKU so not convenient from the centre of town if you don't have transport though: http://goo.gl/maps/94uNK Firehaus in the Ozone Village also makes a good burger.

He looks to have a decent selection of sandwiches and snacks.

April 6, 201411 yr Best ones are made by my wife....in Sisaket. Can't write details now, nor show a photo, as most middle/upper countrymen would move to lower Isaan.
