Yeah maybe, because if it was 666 and Jocky was in the middle, it might not be that enjoyable, especially if a strap on is involved :D:D

Penzman, your about a nothing away from satan.

:o

I thought that Bible scholars had pretty much worked out that 666, the Beast, refered to Emperor Nero. A real Christian hater, if ever there was one.

Avoid anyone with this resemblence. He may be smiling but you might not be.

Maybe the number could be reassigned to a more prolific poster ?

This is certainly one of the many views put forward. Problems arise as there are differences of opinion as to the date of Revelation. many scholars affirm ad 96, some go for pre ad 70, (ad 70 was the destruction of Jerusalem and the dispertion of the Jews).

Also, most scholars go for what's termed a 'continuous historic' reading of Revelation. In other words, it could refer to Nero 'as well' as something later. So every generation can have its own beast in different guises. Also Revelation in it's opening verses says of itself that it's a book of sign and symbol. Many scholars hold the view that it can be read as relevant to any and every age. It's a facinating subject!

Yeah, and conveniently ambiguous enough that if the "event" doesn't happen as "described", it can be written off as a simply misinterpretation of the signs and symbols, until such time as something really does happen (if ever). :o

Then they'll all jump up and gleefully tell you that they knew it all along, it happened just as forecasted and told of in the bible, yadda yadda yadda.

Won't matter if it's a comet on a collision course with earth, nuclear war or alien invasion. They'll all claim the bible foretold the event and that therefore proves everything else in the bible is fact.

Bible Scholars Predict an 85 Percent Probability of a Nuclear Terrorist Attack on the UN Complex in Manhattan on June 9 or 10

http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/6/prweb394193.htm

there you go kerry

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:o

I read that story. Just helps go to show what kind of whackos are out there.

Wanna make a bet that nothing happens on the 9th or 10th ? And when nothing does happen, we probably won't hear a peep from this group, not for a long, long time ?

When you actually sit down and think about it, the only country in the world that would really like to see the UN obliterated, is the USA !

Not having the UN around would save the US huge dollars (the US funds over 25% of the UN budget by itself). Also, no UN would mean no more having to pussy-foot around with places like Iran. They (the US) could just go bomb the snot out of them without worrying about red-tape and sanctions.

There are many in the US who think of the UN as an outdated dinosaur, full of corruption and too concerned about it's image to actually do anything that might upset certain member nations.

So, if by chance the UN did go up in a cloud of nuclear smoke in 4-5 days, it would be a good bet that the bomb came from the US, not the terrorists ! :D

I think Iraq has a better chance of finding ever-lasting peace in the next 4-5 days, than there is that a nuke will go off in New York on the 9th or 10th.

(17 years from now, when a Somalian nuke does go off in New York, this nut-job group will jump up and down and say "We told you so !" and then claim something like "a printing error 400 years ago" is the reason they were wrong on the date, blah blah blah. The only superpower in the world at that time (China) will send it's condolences and offer some minor aid to the survivors). :D

You know kerryd, I usually enjoy your posts, but sometimes you can be a bitter twisted man! The topic title is 'number of the beast' so a discussion on that seems perfectly reasonable to me...
