No standard + No control + No safety + No authority + No implementation or respect of laws and regulations + Mai pen rai attitude.

Total laxism and anarchy!

Accidents, scams every single day on the news.

Maybe they should implement censorship on all negative news as it gives a bad image to the country.

RIP. I can only pray that the injured are able to recover physically and emotionally, and are receiving good care and support. My prayers are with the families of all the poor people involved in this terrible accident.

On the 304 highway...Just had two NCA buses bit the dust on that road a short while back, now we have a total of three and 14 more dead.

Someone fell asleep at the wheel again ...

How many of these accidents have to happen before they learn ?

This is very sad news. School children are the victims.

This kind of thing brings heart ache and misery to many family members.

Please drive carefully out there.

I think they will only learn when it starts hitting the owners in their pockets big time & the police actually enforce the road rules. Neither is likely to happen as there are too many vested & powerful interests involved.

Terrible news.

It's a divided highway where the accident occurred. I wonder how the collision occurred?

Unless they are talking about the long stretch of road down from the Khao Yai national park. Accidents involving heavy vehicles are a daily occurrence there. A true accident black spot.

RIP to all that have lost their lives.

Scared the crap out of me as my partner was on his way from Nakhon Ratchasima to the beach on a different bus. I drive from BKK to Korat every week and almost every drive, I see an overturned truck. Almost every time! Last Friday there was one over turned truck and further up the highway a DHL truck on top of a concrete barrier.

Thai news is reporting that the bus was coming down the side of a mountain when the driver lost control, crashing the bus into the back of a 18 wheeler that was travelling in front going the same direction. However they are not sure what caused the driver to lose control at the stage.

This video has been making the rounds this week, kinda pinpoints truck drivers attitudes towards safe driving.

Another sad day for Thailand. Many innocent lives broken.

Rest in peace you guiltless kids, and for the one that were injured I wish you all a quick and full recovery and may life be more joust towards you.

Here are some photos just taken at the scene of the accident

May well be seen as heartless - but who pays for the hospitalisation?? and the funeral costs for the departed??

Do they have the registration number - if yes, time for a police visit -- 5555555

Please check your facts NCA to Khon Kaen does not travel on the sams road that goes from Korat to Prachin Buri!

Lost control of the bus - more likely completely devoid of any common sense. Has the driver survived, from the pictures would seem likely - any charges - probably not - back into another bus tomorrow none the wiser of that he has done, mai pben reai.

I agree. The repercussions would last for decades and it would be a part of national consciousness like the Grandville accident in the early 90's that claimed 20 odd lives. Here this tragic event won't rate a mention after today!

The cause of the accident has not been stated yet, thus we don't know what caused the disaster.

Really sorry for this wasting of lives.

Agree I hope they got him as I can see a number of serious indictable offences there. The guy is a lunatic. I have seen some crazy dangerous driving on Thai roads by this wins hands down.
