Tourist plunges to death at Suvarnabhumi airport

A Canadian tourist was fatally injured after he plunged himself from the fourth floor to the ground floor at Suvarnabhumi international airport before noon today (Sunday).

The victim was identified as Ramond Mark Campbell, 64. He arrived in Bangkok on January 16 and was supposed to return home on March 22. However, he cut short the visit and went to Suvarnabhumi airport for a flight home today.

Police quoted eyewitnesses as saying that Mr Campbell arrived at the airport alone and was seen pushing a trolley with his baggages to Gate 10 of the depature lounge on the 4th floor before he plunged himself to the ground floor.

The victim broke his arms and legs and was rushed to the nearest hospital but he died on the way.

The Canadian embassy will be notified of the death so that the victim’s relatives will be informed, police said.
