Hi, can I get my 30 day extension for my tourist visa at Mae Sai boarder crossing? I'm aware this isn't the norm. If so is it still 1900baht to get it done?

Thanks in advance

I don't think so but if you are going to Mae Sai anyway, why not just cross over the border and come back to get another 30 days?

Only if the op is from the G7. UK,US, Canada,Germany France, Italy or Japan.

Yes, sorry, I couldn't be bothered to edit my post. I'm going to guess that MickeyMaow is Scottish and therefore a British citizen.

According to the Scots not for long. whistling.gifcheesy.gif

Save the trip and do it at CMI.

I had my yearly extension here in Chiang Mai and decided to go into Miramar.

they informed me that with out a reentry visa I would lose the rest of the year.

I went to the Mai Si immigration and got a multiple reentry no problem.

a 30-day extension for a tourist visa can be obtained at any immigration office. There's one in Chiang Mai. There's also an Immigration office in Mae Sai on the road that heads to the border around 2km before the border.

Hi everyone--my first post!

I went to Mae Sai today for a tourist visa run. As I'm American, I got a 30 day visa. It's free.

I'd been asking around for weeks whether or not Mae Sai (or Myawaddy for that matter) offer 30-day tourist visas. It appears that they keep changing it and people are confused. Today I saw the sign upon exiting Thailand what countries get 15 days and what countries get 30 days. The sign was old and faded, but on the list, besides some countries' names, someone had drawn little stars next to countries whose citizens get 30 days.

Unfortunately I didn't take the time to copy down for y'all which countries were specifically listed for 30 day tourist visas, but I'd say there were about 10. What khwaibah said about it being G7 could be right.

By the way, I kept reading on this forum (and elsewhere) that there's a one-day grace period after overstaying a visa, then you might pay 1000B for overstaying two days. Not for me. I paid 500B for one day overstay. The officer nearly forgot to hit me with the overstay so I can imagine some people get the easy treatment. Maybe it was because I had overstayed before and they are harder on repeat 'offenders'.

So, what do I need to have for visa extension over at immergration here in chiangmai?

If your referring to the 30 day extension for a 60 day tourist visa you need two passport photos and 1900 baht.

All done. You need copy's of your passport and visa, 1 photo and 1900 baht. I went over at 2pm and was there for around an hour and a half. Which was alright, there's a coffee shop there to chill out and wait.
