40.5 c on wensday in wichianburi[petchabun province],most days have been 38 or above for a 10 days or so,couple of wind storms, thought we would get a big storm yesterday, but only thunder and a few spots of rain, thai met office predicting storms for today, hope so as it will cool things a little, regarding thermometers they should be in the shade,if attached to a brick wall you will not get a true reading as it will be influenced by ambient heat from the wall, glad i had air con installed in my study a few weeks ago though.

Yes, this year we had a month of cold season where normally it lasts a week

I was just going to mention that. Yes it is hot, but that is always the case this time of year in Thailand. Maybe people still have the memories of the long 'winter temperatures' and are having problems adjusting to normal?

To the green people on here, is that a reason why they don't call it Global Warming anymore? More record cold temperatures recorded than hot ones? They didn't think that title out very well did they?

Nah, I have lived through more than 25 hot seasons in Thailand, I know the drill. Where I am, it is something altogether different.

Hottest I have everyexperienced anywhere and that includes Bihar in mid-May.

Oldest folks in the village cannot remember anything like it, either. It is ruining fruit crops.

There is still global warming, coming from under the oceans, but, more troublesome is the effects of returning ice:

funny how this conversation occurs every year right about this time.

indeed but this year (so far) it seems to be a drier heat which is what makes it feel like a scorcher.

I used to work in the Mid East. I can tell you from experience that a dry 45C is a lot nicer than a humid 45C.
