Whistle-blowers greet Yingluck in Suphan Buri
Anapat Deechuay

BANGKOK: -- A group of whistle-blowing villagers appeared to be lying in wait for caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra when she went to visit the Bueng Chawak Aquarium in Suphan Buri yesterday.

She was in the province to follow up on the development of the tourist attraction and learn about inland fisheries.

Though there was a group of supporters to greet her, some People's Democratic Reform Council (PDRC) supporters were also waiting and blew whistles at her.

The PM, who was in a wheelchair after twisting her ankle last week, was warmly welcomed by Chart Thai Pattana de facto leader Banharn Silapa-archa, caretaker Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Yukol Limlamthong, Deputy Premier Plodprasop Suraswadi and Suphan Buri Governor Supeepat Chongpanish.

While wheeling Yingluck's chair into the aquarium, Banharn said he was delighted to welcome the prime minister to his province.

However, he added, "I feel sorry for the prime minister because she is stuck in a crucial political situation. The country is in a deadlock."

When asked about the best solution, Banharn smiled and said: "Please ask the Constitutional Court."

Why, are you thinking of inserting one yourself?

These whistle blowers need to grow up and stop acting like little children. Learn how to protest and not make fools of themselves.

While I am an avid supporter of the PDRC movement, they can stop childishly blowing their whistles at people now.... we are now in the end game for sure.

I suggest they start arming themselves with something a bit more substantial.

When the likes of Chalerm comes out with a statement saying he is not worried about red shirt violence, you can be pretty certain that he knows there is going to be plenty and is bluffing the other side into not preparing to defend themselves.

Is Yingluck still campaigning using tax payer funds?

By throwing grenades, dimantling stages or beating-up on monks, defacing election-posters or spraying bullets at opponents' homes, instead ? wink.png

By comparison whistles or hand/foot-clappers seem quite civilised and restrained, IMO. thumbsup.gif

Gosh! How funny you are!

Imagine the improvement you could make to your posting with some punctuation - especially given your fixation with colons.

rude, pathetic and childish

the judicial coup is well underway and , for the short-term, the government will be crippled

but I would be careful what you wish for

the vast majority of Thais will be furious that 'Their Vote' has been crushed by thugs and now 'Their PM' crushed by the judiciary

Whistle blowing is an excellent form of protest. Non-violent and demonstrative, it gets the message across very well.

How many whistle blowers were there?

A few weeks ago the nation headlines screamed whistle blowers heckle yingluck!!

There was three old women!

Three!

Give me a break!

The vast majority of Thais didn't vote.

Add to that the 'No" voters and spoiled ballots.

If you mean the few remaining red shirts and PTP supporters, then those people should be positively livid that the government they voted in lied, cheated and connived in the house as well as the horrendous levels of corruption they brought with them.

so following the red playbook, homes of said whistle blowers shall expect gunfire soon?

These whistle blowers need to grow up and stop acting like little children. Learn how to protest and not make fools of themselves.

Yeah, they are much too soft and peaceful, they need to take a leaf out of the red shirt protestors playbook and start looting, burning, rioting, shooting etc . . . it worked for them before!

The blowing of whistles is a protest. It represents the idea of employees who expose corruption in their govt or by their employers. The term for such people is " whistle blowers"

This form of protest is just making the figurative literal.

Yeah, man up and start throwing grenades at small children and learn how to protest like a real man and ardent supporter of democracy.

Binjalin, let me ask you: If the crime alleged was actually committed (and there is good reason to believe this is so...), is it still a judicial coup in your mind?

Second question: if a small minority of extremist, weapon toting, "democracy supporters" claim that they will not follow the rule of law and the judgement of the courts and independent bodies, it is still a DEMOCRACY??

Just asking...

I also like how he puts a summary of the rest of his post in the first line. Makes it a lot quicker to read through threads with a lot of replies.

back on topic, did Ms Caretaker accomplish anything on this crucially important trip to the aquarium?

What alternate method do you suggest to show displeasure? The old razberry, booing, mooning, throwing shoes, etc have less uniformity than the whistle, just the sight of one around the neck, seems to send a clear message.

Isn't where they are blown from????w00t.gif

Is Yingluck still campaigning using tax payer funds?

Well it is remarking how concerned she is about the well being of her fellow Thais and the rice project as of lately.

In the past 4 months she has at least visited 5 times as many villages in Thailand as in the 29 previous months all together.
