June 7, 200619 yr Ok... I'm normally the last to wonder, worry or even ponder if bars and pubs are closed on particular holidays, let alone make it a topic worthy of discussion in online fora. BUT IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT BARS MAY HAVE TO CLOSE FOR THIS FRIDAYS OPENING GAME!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHhH!!!! I am now staring the grim prospect of watching the opener AT HOME right in the kisser.. This is just not done, this is Thailand, Thailand was established in this timezone for a reason, namely to give men-folk an excuse to come home at 5am without hassle, every single day for a full month, every 4 years. And now pubs may have to close, thus cutting into my full month of nighttime freedom?? Please, anyone??? Surely this can't be true? Where would you go?
June 7, 200619 yr Come round to mine and watch it, i'm having a BBQ and loads of beer... .. might even try to steal the office projector for the evening and i'll have it all showing on the entire side of my house

I'm not sure if it is going to be a holiday on Friday or not. Although there was a declaration on TV last night there, as of the time of this posting, hasn't been any official word from the government. My school (Dara Academy) is not sure if they are open yet or not - they are waiting on confirmation that has still to arrive. At least the bars will definitely be open on Saturday - to watch Trinidad humiliate England

June 8, 200619 yr Author Anyway, had a chat with a pub manager yesterday and he said it currently looked like opening was allowed but no alcohol. Whatever! I'll fill some empty red bull bottles with Glennfiddichrh or something. Or actually not drink, doesn't matter much, just as I can be out and watching football. Cheers, Chanchao

June 9, 200619 yr Does that mean that a country can consider themselves amongst the football world's elite if they are better than Scotland?
