1st suggestion, put your Kindle away, it's a pain to read your OP. ;)

I heard some countries' radio frequency exposure limits are higher (allowing more powerful receivers/transmitters) than other countries, not sure where Oz vs Thai stand on this scale. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will advice.

P.S. If I wanted to live in a forest monastery, I wouldn't want to have a phone on me, what's the point in living away from everyone then.:D
